WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Federal agents stopped by an elementary school in D.C. and tried to detain a contractor, DC Public Schools (DCPS) said Wednesday.
In a statement, DCPS said that personnel with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) tried to detain a healthcare contractor that DC Health
had assigned to HD Cooke Elementary School.

DCPS said that the HSI personnel were inside of the campus's parking lot.
"School administration, following protocol and guidance issued by the DC Office of the Attorney General, requested to see identification and a warrant," DCPS said in its statement.
DCPS said that after the agents left, it contacted DC Health to follow up.
A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said, "HSI agents were present at the school unrelated to any kind of enforcement action." ...read more read less
