"About 6:45 in the morning, my son went out there to wash the dump truck to get it ready for a job and he called in frantic, 'Dad! Turn the cameras on! Look! Look!! Look!' And that's when I saw it," Ransom said.
Ransom's home security footage shows thieves stealing one by one. The break-in happened around 5 a.m. while Ransom and his wife were asleep.
"Our master bedroom sits further back toward the backyard, so we’re talking 50-60 feet from that garage in between that space is a guest bedroom and a laundry room, so you don’t hear none of that," Ransom said.
Ransom says in a lot of ways he is glad no one in the house heard the thieves breaking into the work van.
“It was too many of them. I probably would have ran into a situation that would have not been a good situation," he said.
Theives got away with high industrial construction tools like saws, drills, lasers, and sewer cameras used for sewage inspections.

"I grew up in Oakland. I started out 26 years ago, on my own, and I built to what it is today," he said.
Ransom says his business is bigger than him, he uses it to help the community.
“A lot of tires from the jobs and the proceeds that I do get, I try to hire these young youth and get them off the streets," Ransom said. "Unfortunately, it was youth that broke in my van and took everything that I had.”
Ransom hopes the men who stole from him will change their lives for the better and stop the thieves.
"We can’t keep doing this. We can’t keep doing this. They’re going to run into somebody, and it's going to be a negative situation," Ransom said.
