KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City crews responded to a large building fire Wednesday night. The fire was reported just after 7:20 p.m. near 138th Street and Wyandotte Street at a maintenance building belonging to Suburban Lawn and Garden. Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins with the Kansas City Fir e Department said crews said crews had the fire under control just after 9 p.m. and that companies are working to put out hot spots. Hopkins said various tanks containing various fuel sources caused secondary explosions inside the structure.
