Carolina wildfires grow after breaching perimeters Wednesday

GREENVILLE, SC (WOLO) — Two ongoing wildfires prompted a new round of mandatory evacuations in Pickens and Greenville counties again Wednesday.
According to infrared data collected by the The South Carolina Forestry Commission using SLED helicopters both
fires breach perimeters causing the fires to grow. Officials say wind gusts, dry conditions and debris leftover from Hurricane Helene are all to blame for the expansion.
The Forestry Commission says the Table Rock fire has expanded to more than 45-hundred acres on day two.
In the meantime, the Persimmon Ridge Fire tripled in size to more than 1-thousand 5 hundred acres. Investigators say both wildfires… which were caused by people are zero percent contained. No injuries have been reported.
