Rent for 1bedroom apartment in Fresno jumps compared to 2024, study shows

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Renting a single-bedroom apartment in Fresno is even more expensive than it was last year, a new study shows.
According to rental-listing company Zumper, rent for a single-bedroom apartment jumped by 10.0% when comparing March 2025 prices against March 2024 numbers. H
owever, month-by-month comparisons show a decrease of 1.4% from February into March, sitting at an average of $1,430 per month.

In Zumper's data table, Fresno ranks in the top 40 most expensive rental markets in the nation this month - more expensive than Boise, Baltimore, and Reno.
While the price has jumped for a single-bedroom apartment, officials say Fresno's current average for a two-bedroom apartment has little to no change compared to March 2024, sitting at $1,600 with a 0.6% increase.
According to the survey, the most expensive cities to rent a single-bedroom apartment in are New York ($4,470 with a 6.4% year-on-year increase) and San Francisco ($3,200 with a 10.3% increase).
