Motorcycle rider seriously injured in crash near Andover

BUTLER COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) A two-vehicle crash east of Andover on Wednesday afternoon sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Firefighter hospitalized after Butler County house fire
Authorities say a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was turning left from Santa Fe Lake Road when it was struck by a northbound 2024 Triumph motorcycle. The motorcycle attempted to avoid the pickup but collided with it. The motorcycle came to rest in a ditch on the west side of the road.
The driver of the pickup, a 50-year-old man from Augusta, was not injured. The motorcyclist, a 68-year-old man from Towanda, sustained suspected serious injuries and was transported to Wesley Medical Center for treatment. A report from the KHP noted that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
