Firefighter hospitalized after Butler County house fire

BUTLER COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) -- A firefighter ended up in the hospital after battling a house fire in a rural part of southern Butler County Tuesday night.
The fire happened around 7:30 p.m. near Cole Creek Road and 220th. The home is in the Cowley County Fire District, but Butler County firefighte

The Cowley County fire chief said a homeowner was burning pastureland when the fire reached the corner of his house, spread up a wall, and entered the attic.
He said one of his firefighters was taken to the hospital for observation and was still there Wednesday afternoon.
