PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A road leading to Petersburg National Battlefield will be closed on March. 27 and 28 due to several trees being removed. According to a Facebook post made by the park, Eastern Front Tour Road will be closed temporarily by National Park Service staff due to the removal of h azard trees located near Stop 8 at the Crater parking lot. In the mornings of March 27 and 28 the tour road will close to vehicles but will reopen at noon. Walkers and bikers will be allowed through, but not in the area between the Crater parking lot at stop 8 and 7.
