he last two as the head coach. He led the Bulldogs to a 43-25 record over the last two years, culminating with America East Regular Season and Tournament titles and a trip to the NCAA Tournament this past season. Martelli’s 43 wins are the most by a Bryant coach in his first two years in program history.
“First and foremost, I wish nothing but the best for coach Martelli and his family,” Vice President of Athletics & Recreation Bill Smith said. “Coach Martelli has positioned Bryant University for continued success, winning the America East Conference championship and taking the Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament for the second time in four years. I assure our loyal and passionate fan base that the Bryant University men’s basketball program will continue to compete for championships year in and year out.”
Under Martelli’s guidance, the Bulldogs produced the 2025 America East Player of the Year and the 2025 America East Newcomer of the Year. Martelli was named the America East and NABC Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year for his efforts.
“I am forever grateful to the entire Bryant community for welcoming me and my family to this very special place seven years ago,” Martelli said. “Thank you to President Gittell, Athletic Director Bill Smith, the Board of Trustees and all those that believed enough in me to elevate me to the position of head coach two years ago. It truly was a dream come true. Bryant will always be in my heart. Go Bulldogs!”
Bryant men’s basketball has emerged as one of the top mid-majors in the Northeast over the last seven seasons, posting a 122-92 overall record and a 72-43 conference record in that span. The Bulldogs have won 20+ games in each of the last two seasons and three times in the last four years. Bryant has advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2022 and 2025.
