New England Tech to offer 2year bachelor's degree programs
Mar 26, 2025
EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) — The New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) is set to make history, becoming one of the first schools in the country to offer a two-year accelerated degree program.
"New England Tech is excited to be the first in New England to offer a 90-week bachelor's degree
that can be completed in 24 months," said Doug Sherman, the school's senior vice president.

The program will offer degrees in high-demand fields like cybersecurity, business management, graphic design and criminal justice.
The accelerated program is designed to help students save on tuition and enter the workforce more quickly.
"By reducing the number of credits by 25%, we are also reducing tuition costs by 25%," Sherman explained.
The college thinks the accelerated tracks will be especially popular with nontraditional students.
"We think that these programs will be very attractive to veterans, to people who are going to perhaps be career changers," Sherman noted. "They're looking for a quick option of obtaining a meaningful set of high-demand skills to be able to enter the workforce."
NEIT currently offers accelerated-track options for all of its degree programs, allowing students to earn an associate's degree in 18 months or a bachelor's degree in three years.
The new two-year bachelor's program will launch this fall.
