INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After a sunny start to our Wednesday, we saw quite a bit of cloud cover take over with scattered light showers mainly north of Indy.
Keep in tune with radar and the forecast as we track multiple rounds of showers and storms into and through the final weekend of March.
Wednesday: A few showers will remain possible until early tonight with coverage mainly north of interstate 70. Lows will drop into the mid 30s.
Thursday: We’ll track scattered showers and maybe a rumble or two of thunder Thursday. The more widespread coverage of rain will be confined towards far southern Indiana.
Highs will once again get into the mid 50s.
Friday: We’ll see a warm front move in Friday morning, which will cause a spark of showers (some heavy) and potentially a few storms. Afterwards, most of the remainder of the day is shaping up to be dry with some bits of sunshine.
This front also gives way to a much warmer day with highs pushing back into the mid 70s and breezy winds out of the south. Wind gusts look to be up to 20-30 MPH at times. For those heading to Lucas Oil Stadium to watch men’s March Madness Sweet Sixteen, we’ll still be feeling mild into Friday night with tipoff times slated to be 7:09 PM and 10:09 PM.
7-Day Forecast: On and off rain will continue through the final weekend of March with potential for some storms to mix in. We are still watching for the potential for strong to severe storms in the latter half of Sunday with a slight risk (level 2/5) in place. There is still uncertainty on system track, strength, and how much rain gets involved that could zap some of the some unstable air. Nonetheless, it will be breezy and warm with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s Saturday and Sunday. Much cooler air is back in the picture by the final day of March on Monday.
