EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - A man featured on the "Most Wanted" fugitive list has been arrested after a "brief standoff" on Tuesday, March 25, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPCSO) announced in a news release.
EPCSO said Armando Alvarado, 44, who was featured on the "Most Wanted" list for the w
eek of March 21, was arrested and charged with obstruction or retaliation and terroristic threat against a peace officer with a $47,500 bond.

Alvarado was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants, including the following, according to EPCSO:
Three counts of failure to comply with sex offender duty
One count of assault – family violence impeding breath/circulation
One count of false report to induce emergency response
EPCSO said that on Tuesday, deputies acted on an anonymous tip regarding the whereabouts of Alvarado.
Deputies located Alvarado, but upon contact, he barricaded himself inside a residence and threatened to shoot law enforcement officers, EPCSO said.
EPCSO said deputies quickly secured a perimeter around the house and initiated negotiations, and after a brief standoff, deputies successfully de-escalated the situation, convincing Alvarado to surrender peacefully. He was taken into custody without further incident, EPCSO added.
