April will bring more daylight and even later sunsets

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — The month of March saw a significant increase in daylight with our seasons continuing to change. Daylight Saving Time also started at the beginning of March, which pushed our sunsets back an entire hour.
For April, additional daylight hours can be expected. The majorit
y of the United States can anticipate at least an hour of additional daylight by the time the month is over. Southern Colorado, specifically, will see 70 more minutes of sunlight while areas further north will see closer to an hour and a half.
Sunset times will also continue to get later as we head further into Spring and eventually Summer. The beginning of April will feature sunsets close to 7:30 PM for Southern Colorado. By May and June sunsets will be right around 8 PM.
The winter months had sunset times well before most people typically got off of work. This led to people driving home largely in the dark. Now, as we move into April and beyond, sunset times will be late enough for the majority of people to get home before dark. Enjoy the extra daylight! ...read more read less
