RPD: Police block off, investigate 2 areas in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Rochester Police have blocked off two separate areas in Rochester Wednesday and are investigating each area.
The first scene sits on Saint Paul Street as Police have blocked off the roadway between Avenue A and Clifford Avenue.
According to a school official who sp
oke with News 8 at the scene, the Roberto Clemente School No. 8 in the area was on lockout which has since been lifted.

Rochester Police have also blocked off a portion of Lyell Avenue for a "hold up alarm" following reports that a store employee was being attacked.
According to Police, officers responded to Lyell Avenue near Sherman Street around 12:30 p.m. Following an investigation, Police said there was an altercation involving edged weapons.
The store clerk in the area suffered what police are calling on-life-threatening injuries. The customer, who is also the suspect inside the investigation, was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries that require surgery.

RPD has not confirmed that the two scenes are related.
