FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Former superintendent of Clovis Unified School District Dr. Eimear O’Brien, who announced her retirement in early 2023, is now the interim superintendent at Central Unified School District. The move to make Dr. O'Brien interim superintendent comes after former supe rintendent Kerri Davis was released from her contract in March. Central Unified’s superintendent out without explanation When she announced her retirement in early 2023, Dr. Eimer O'Brien said her motivation to leave was due to her role as a daughter to her mother in Ireland stating, "I recognize that it is time for me, like so many of you, to play a larger role in caring for my aging parent." Central Unified School District announced late on Tuesday that the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Eimear O’Brien as the Interim Superintendent, with a start date of Wednesday, March 26.
