After retiring from Clovis Unified, former superintendent is now at Central Unified

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Former superintendent of Clovis Unified School District Dr. Eimear O’Brien, who announced her retirement in early 2023, is now the interim superintendent at Central Unified School District.

rintendent Kerri Davis was released from her contract in March.
Central Unified’s superintendent out without explanation
When she announced her retirement in early 2023, Dr. Eimer O'Brien said her motivation to leave was due to her role as a daughter to her mother in Ireland stating, "I recognize that it is time for me, like so many of you, to play a larger role in caring for my aging parent."
Central Unified School District announced late on Tuesday that the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Eimear O’Brien as the Interim Superintendent, with a start date of Wednesday, March 26.
"Dr. O’Brien’s extensive experience as an educator and superintendent is exactly the leadership Central Unified needs at this critical moment," said Board President Naindeep Singh Chann. "Her unwavering commitment to education embodies the guiding principles of our district."
Dr. O'Brien stated that she was humbled by the opportunity to serve Central Unified "and energized to get to work alongside this incredible team." ...read more read less
