TOPEKA (KSNT) - Topeka is rolling out a new communications tool to help locals find answers to their questions fast. The City of Topeka announced on Tuesday, March 25 that it has created a new hotline for people who have questions about city services. People will soon be able to call "311" for no n-emergency needs. Callers will be sent directly to the city department best suited to answer the questions they have. City Manager Robert Perez said the 311 hotline should help streamline customer service. "You have 911 for emergency calls and then you have 311 for any other city service," Perez said. "It will be simple for someone to dial 311 and be connected to any city service."   UPS shutting down two Kansas facilities in 2025 The City of Topeka hopes this will lessen the load on the 911 call center which has been hit hard by recent staff shortages.
