TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Topeka Fire Department says one person was found injured after a garage fire in east Topeka on Tuesday. Rosie Nichols with the City of Topeka said firefighters were called around 10:15 p.m. on March 25 to the 800 block of Southeast Rice Road on reports of a detached garage fi re. Crews found light smoke coming from a garage in the area and started fighting the fire. One person was found and taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. The TFD said no working smoke detectors were found in the structure.
