Thousands of heroin bags found during search warrants in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A multi-agency investigation led to the arrest of three Springfield residents and the seizure of two illegal firearms, more than 11,000 bags of heroin, and more than $92,000.
In a news release from the Springfield Police Department, at around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a se
arch warrant was executed in connection with suspected heroin/fentanyl distribution from an apartment of 21-year-old Jeremy Collazo on Plainfield Street. Inside the home, officers found Collazo, 22-year-old Jasmine Soto-Sepulveda of Springfield, and a small child.
Approximately 700 bags of heroin, a large-capacity ghost gun, and more than $2,500 were seized. Both Collazo and Soto-Sepulveda were then arrested.

Collazo is charged with the following:
Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card
Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
Possession of a Convert/Undetectable Firearm
Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm near a Minor
Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
Soto-Sepulveda is charged with the following:
Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card
Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
Possession of a Convert/Undetectable Firearm
Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm near a Minor
Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
During the investigation, police identified a co-conspirator as 29-year-old Wilfredo Arvelo-Ruiz of Springfield. Officers located Arvelo-Ruiz in his vehicle on King Street and detained him while a search warrant was executed at his home on Suffolk Street.
Approximately 10,600 bags of heroin, an illegal firearm with a switch making the firearm fully automatic, 98 rounds of ammunition, five large-capacity firearm magazines, and nearly $90,000 were seized.

Possession of a Machine Gun
Possession of a Loaded Machine Gun
Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card – Subsequent Offense
Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine/Feeding Device (Six Counts)
Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm
Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number during the Commission of a Felony
Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm
Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number
Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm during the Commision of a Felony
Drug Violation Near School/Park
Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
The joint investigation was conducted by members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit-West, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, Massachusetts State Police VFAS, Hampden District Attorney’s SAFE Unit, Chicopee and West Springfield police.
