Third suspect pleads guilty in connection to shooting death of 8yearold

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- The third suspect in the 2022 killing of 8-year-old P'Aris Moore has pled guilty, according to police.
At 2:14 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30 in 2022, officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 2300 block of Freeman Street.
The person was found shot in the chest and wa
s later identified as 8-year-old P'Aris Mi-unique Moore. She was taken to the TriCities Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
According to Hopewell Police Department, on March 26, 18-year-old Brandon James Warner pled guilty to first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection to Moore's death.
Prior to his arrest, between the Hopewell Police Department, the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, and the community of Hopewell, three total arrests, including Warner's, had been made.

Warner is scheduled to be sentenced in Hopewell Circuit Court on Aug. 8.
The trial of the two other defendants involved, Rayquan Latrel Harvell and Jamari Antonio Taylor, are set to take place from April 10 through April 11 and from Oct. 27 through Oct. 30, respectively. ...read more read less
