RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Alexandria Police Department has shared an update in the unexpected death of former U.S. Eastern District Attorney, Jessica Aber, saying they believe she died of natural causes. Aber died in her home in Northern Virginia on Saturday, March 22. Aber was only 44 years old at the time. An outpouring of support and sympathy for both the former attorney and her family was seen all over social media shortly after. "The Alexandria Police Department continues its investigation into the death of Ms. Jessica Aber," a social post from the department on Tuesday, March 25, reads. "At this time, detectives have found no evidence suggesting that her death was caused by anything other than natural causes." According to the department, the investigation is still ongoing and will remain open until the medical examiner returns a final ruling on the cause and manner of death. "We urge the public to respect the privacy of Ms. Aber's family during this time of loss," the police release reads.
