City of OKC reminds residents to be careful when throwing away garbage

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The City of Oklahoma City is reminding residents to be mindful of what they're throwing away.
According to the City of OKC, a trash truck recently caught fire in northwest Oklahoma City due to a kerosene lantern.

Residents are reminded to avoid putting the following in the garbage:
Lithium Ion batteries or items that contain them (toys, hoverboards, e-scooters, drones, etc.)
Pool chemicals, chlorine
Gasoline, liquid charcoal or similar flammable liquids
Paint thinners, motor oils, brake fluids
Propane tanks - small or large
Used charcoal (let soak in a tub of water overnight before putting charcoal bricks in your trash cart)
These items can be taken to the City's Household Hazardous Waste facility at 1621 S Portland Ave.
