MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The site of Railgarten, a popular Midtown bar, restaurant, and outdoor venue, is now listed for sale, three months after its sudden closure and seven months after a shooting.
The 1.35-acre complex of several buildings at 2166 Central Avenue is listed by commercial real estate f
irm Collier's. Amenities listed include a diner, tiki bar, indoor music hall, backyard beer garden, volleyball court, and ping-pong pavilion.
"The Property benefits from being in the heart of the Cooper-Young district, a social, cultural, and entertainment hotspot," the listing states.
Railgarten, which opened in 2017, closed suddenly in December for renovations, but details were not made public, and no date for reopening was given.
The real estate listing, which refers to the property as "formerly Railgarten," seems to indicate that it now won't reopen.
Last August, an argument over a parking space led to shots fired in the Railgarten parking lot, sending patrons running for cover.
