Indianapolis Ballet and Symphony team up for “Swan Lake”
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Ballet and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra are collaborating for a second consecutive season to present ‘Swan Lake’ at Clowes Memorial Hall.
‘Swan Lake’ will have live music conducted
by Jack Everly, the principal pops conductor of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, who has a rich history with ballet music, having previously worked with American Ballet Theater.
“The dancers are beautiful. They’re so prepared, so ready, and so ready to dance with live music,” Indianapolis Ballet Executive Director Don Steffy said.
James Johnson, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra CEO, said that the organizations are planning future collaborations, but you’re not going to want to miss out on ‘Swan Lake.’
“Of course, it’s glorious music by Tchaikovsky, but with the timeless choreography of ‘Swan Lake’ and the story that is absolutely unforgettable,” Johnson said.
Choreographer Victoria Lyras worked hand in hand with Everly to enhance the collaboration between the ballet and the symphony.
The performances at Clowes Memorial Hall are scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $15.
