COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Columbia man has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana, said the DOJ.
Evidence obtained during the inves
tigation revealed that 37-year-old Jocobia Dozier-Eaddy and others were responsible for shipping and selling cocaine and counterfeit oxycodone pills made with fentanyl through the U.S. Postal Service from Arizona into South Carolina.
DOJ officials said during the investigation agents seized marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, and counterfeit oxycodone pills.
Agents were able to identify Dozier-Eaddy following his sale of counterfeit pills to an undercover agent.
During the sale, Dozier-Eaddy sold the undercover agent 200 counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl, according to the DOJ.
Agents learned that Dozier-Eaddy called the USPS to inquire about a package that had been seized by them.
Investigators said the package contained two individually wrapped packages containing over 900 grams of cocaine and 5 grams of crack cocaine, and that the package was supposed to be delivered that day.
Dozier-Eaddy is accused of confirming the package seized was the correct package and giving the correct tracking number, his cellular telephone number, and the correct address for delivery of the package.
Additionally, Dozier-Eaddy is also accused of wiring money to the supplier of the drugs in Arizona, who was arrested by Homeland Security Investigations in a separate investigation in Arizona.
He was sentenced to 46 months imprisonment which is to be followed by a two-year term of court-ordered supervision by a United States district judge.
