(Photo courtesy: Ronnie Erwin) AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Ronnie Erwin and his wife Lynn spent about three decades putting together a book documenting every sheriff in the state of Texas. Lynn died before they could finish. “God had a different plan. He diagnosed Lynn with a very rare disease, where she only had three or five months to live,” Ronnie said. One of Lynn's dying wishes was for Ronnie to finish it, so he did, and he spent last year traveling across the state to deliver a copy of the book to each sheriff's office. This week, he got the chance to present a signed copy to Gov. Greg Abbott. "I tell ya, it’s been a wonderful experience and I just, I miss my dear Lynn, we had a wonderful time doing this, and I think she would be very pleased with the quality of the book that came out," Erwin said.
