Cause of death released for teen allegedly killed by man shot in Columbus by SWAT officer

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- The cause of death has been released for a Toledo teen who was allegedly killed by a man that was shot by a SWAT officer on Tuesday in the Victorian Village neighborhood in North Columbus.
Keimani Latigue, 13, died of multiple incised wounds to the neck, according to the
Lucas County Coroner's Office. Her death has been ruled a homicide.
Darnell Jones, 33, allegedly murdered, raped, and cut off the hands of Latigue, according to Lt. Brian Steel, president of the local police officer's union. Latigue was reported missing on March 18. Her body was found on Monday in an abandoned home.

On Tuesday, Jones was located in the area of Dennison Avenue and West 2nd Avenue in Victorian Village. After a confrontation, Jones was shot by a SWAT officer. See previous coverage in the player above.
Jones was taken to a hospital, and after a "lengthy surgery," is expected to survive, police said. It's unclear if Jones remained hospitalized as of Wednesday morning.
Jones, who was reportedly the last person to see Latigue before she went missing, faces charges of murder, felonious assault and abduction out of Lucas County, according to a criminal complaint.
Police are working to learn why Jones was in the area and what connections he has to Columbus. ...read more read less
