WATERBURY, CT. (WWLP) - The woman accused of holding her stepson captive for two decades is expected back in court in Connecticut on Wednesday.
Suspects arrested in Connecticut after crashing car stolen from Mass.
Kimberly Sullivan, 56, is accused of keeping her stepson locked in his
room for most of his life in her home in Waterbury. The man told police he was given very little food and just two small cups of water a day ever since he was 11-years-old. He was 32-years-old when he escaped and weighed just 68 pounds.
NBC Connecticut states that he’d been locked in the house for his entire life and intentionally set the fire because he wanted his freedom.
On Wednesday, Sullivan expected to plead not guilty to a number of charges. She has denied any wrongdoing. Meanwhile, the victim is receiving an outpouring of support.
Almost $200,000 have been raised to help him rebuild his life.
