(KRON) -- A woman was killed early Monday morning after a hit-and-run crash involving three vehicles in Brisbane, the Brisbane Police Department (BPD) announced in a news release. The crash happened around 5:15 a.m. on the 3700 block of Bayshore Boulevard.

ken to San Francisco General Hospital. The woman, who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash, was 59 years old and died at the hospital, BPD said. She was identified as 59-year-old Lodi woman Rosa Baez, according to the San Mateo County Coroner's Office.
The second driver, a 35-year-old man, is in stable condition. The third driver fled the scene before first responders arrived. According to BPD, the runaway driver is a 37-year-old man from Burlingame.
The suspect was later arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail on charges of hit-and-run causing injury, hit-and-run causing death and vehicular manslaughter. Authorities are investigating whether drugs and/or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
A portion of Bayshore Boulevard -- between San Bruno Avenue and Old County Road -- will be closed as a San Mateo County investigation team conducts work on the roadway. The closure will be in both directions from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
