SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) -- A regional spokesperson for the United States Postal Service is responding to delivery concerns in the Bacon Park neighborhood.
Laurette Roberts is a resident, and she says her entire neighborhood has been experiencing issues for months, many people not receiving essentia
l items.
"People are waiting for their medication...they're waiting for their bills. A lot of people are getting late payments, because their bills are late coming to their house. They can't pay it on time," Roberts said. "They're mixing it up. They're not delivering it at all sometimes. It's just terrible postal service."
WSAV reached out to the regional USPS spokesperson with these concerns.
"The Postal Service plays an important role in the community, and our employees are committed to providing outstanding service. Local postal management at the Savannah Oglethorpe Station reports that all mail and packages are being delivered as soon as they are available. Customers who have delivery, mailing, or shipping concerns are reminded to contact us so we can review and correct any service issues to their satisfaction. They have many options for reaching us, including contacting the Postmaster, manager or supervisor at their local Post Office, calling our Customer Care Center at 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777), or visiting our website at www.usps.com."
When Roberts tried to send her sister, who lives in the Bronx, a package on March 19, "They told me that the package would be there on Saturday, March 22. I looked at the tracking number on the USPS phone tracker, and it told me that it just arrived in Jacksonville on the 23rd."
Roberts say she has complained to several local USPS representatives but still no answers.
"I just want them to get it together," she said. ...read more read less
