KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a missing 3-month-old baby named Hugo.
KCKPD said on March 13, Hugo's mother left him in the care of a friend, identified as Brittany Jones, 35, while she went out of town. Five days later,
on March 18, family returned to pick Hugo up but Jones refused to turn him over.
Police said Jones then left the country on a vacation.
KCKPD said Jones has been charged in Wyandotte County with aggravated interference with parental custody and was taken into police custody Tuesday evening in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hugo was last seen by family at Jones' residence near N. 47th Street and Webster Avenue in KCK.
Detectives believe that Jones may have left Hugo in the care of a relative or friend who is unaware of her custodial interference.
