College of Charleston's Chris Mack confirms second year return

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The College of Charleston’s head basketball coach announced via social media he plans to return to his head coaching position for a second year.
The statement comes amid rumors swirling that Coach Chris Mack was being eyed for the head coaching position at Xavier Uni
versity.
Mack played for Xavier as a student and was the Musketeers’ head coach from 2009 to 2018. The Cincinnati-based college is searching for a new head coach after Sean Miller notified that he was leaving for the top spot at Texas.
“Just about a year ago, my family joined me at Cistern Yard to celebrate the start of something special here in Charleston,” Mack posted to X. “You have been incredibly supportive from day one. The Macks can’t wait to run it back in year two. Better than ever.”
In his first year, the Cougars went 24-9 under Mack’s leadership.
