Je’Shawn Stevenson scored 17 points off the bench and Tahj Staveskie had a fine all-around game with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals to lead Cleveland State past Florida Gulf Coast, 72-65, in a CBI semifinal at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla., on March 25.
It was a one-point game
with 59 seconds left when FGCU’s Jevin Muniz made a free throw. But he missed the second attempt, keeping it a 66-65 game. Tevin Smith grabbed the rebound, and CSU called a timeout.
Coming out of the timeout, Dylan Arnett had a layup, assisted by Chase Robinson, to open a 68-65 advantage.

FGCU had a turnover, and Stevenson and Staveskie each made a pair of free throws in the final 14 seconds for the final margin.
