FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A new stadium is coming to Fresno Pacific University, and officials say they will welcome this new addition with a ribbon-cutting ceremony open to the public. Fresno Pacific University announced the opening of the Dan Martin Stadium, defined as the Sunbird Baseball's home, and a "transformational milestone" for Sunbird Athletics and the university community. To celebrate this milestone, organizers say they will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Admission to the event is free, and everyone from alumni, students, staff and other community members are invited to attend. According to the university, the new stadium will include a new concession stand and restroom, covered seating for 700 people, a press box and a modernized clubhouse and locker room for "the big leagues." The university adds that the construction of the stadium is expected to be completed by March 31 as they prepare for the upcoming PacWest Conference series and to host the PacWest Conference Championship in early May.
