KDOT to begin drainage survey on US54 in Butler County

BUTLER COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Department of Transportation is set to begin a field survey along U.S. Highway 54 in Butler County around March 31 as part of a drainage study at the Augusta Industrial Park near the U.S. 54 and Lunger Road intersection.

The survey is a key step in collecting data for the detailed design of proposed drainage improvements in the area. Work is expected to continue through mid-May.
Survey crews will use ground-based instruments to map existing features within the survey corridor. Before entering any private property, crew members will contact property owners or tenants to request permission.

KDOT is reminding motorists to stay alert, heed posted signage, and use caution when driving through work zones.
