The Salvation Army offers help with unpaid gas bills

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — It’s beginning to feel a lot like spring, but many Wichita families still face unpaid winter gas bills. In response, The Salvation Army is providing income-based gas bill assistance to those in need. But there’s one catch: You have to go to class.

ps individuals with past-due utility payments by requiring them to attend a Utility Education Class, which provides financial tools and connects them to additional support resources.

“We want to do more than just help pay a bill,” Collin Munson, a spokesperson for The Salvation Army in Wichita, said in a statement. “This class empowers individuals with knowledge and connections that can make a lasting difference.”
The next class is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, with additional weekly sessions to follow. Registration is required, and class availability is based on ZIP code service areas.
