WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) —  It’s beginning to feel a lot like spring, but many Wichita families still face unpaid winter gas bills. In response, The Salvation Army is providing income-based gas bill assistance to those in need. But there’s one catch: You have to go to class. The initiative hel ps individuals with past-due utility payments by requiring them to attend a Utility Education Class, which provides financial tools and connects them to additional support resources. Another Amazon facility and jobs coming to Wichita area “We want to do more than just help pay a bill,” Collin Munson, a spokesperson for The Salvation Army in Wichita, said in a statement. “This class empowers individuals with knowledge and connections that can make a lasting difference.” The next class is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, with additional weekly sessions to follow.
