NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — There's a new heartfelt show on Hallmark Plus that is helping families with home renovations and home remodeling, and the show has a Louisiana connection. On the show, the interior designer, Olivia Westbrooks, who's helping those families, is originally from Lafayette, Loui siana. Westbrooks is making magic with actor and carpenter Luke Macfarlane for their new show, "Home is Where The Heart Is." Is iconic TV star Don Johnson of ‘Doctor Odyssey’ afraid of sharks? Westbrooks said that being from Louisiana has helped her on the show. "We are colorful people down here in Louisiana, and we are not afraid of color, sequins and anything that brings joy," she said. On the show, these two magic makers help families renovate their homes while preserving the "heart" of the home. "Design isn't always about out with the old and in with the new, it is how we can honor the past," Macfarlane said. My father planted an oak tree, and I remember that tree provided so much shade for conversations, crawfish boils and my parents renewed their vows there," Westbrooks said. I was like 5 or 6 years old when I realized that there were hinges on the book shelf," Macfarlane said. "Home is Where The Heart Is" is now streaming on Hallmark Plus. Westbrooks' interior design company is based out of Atlanta. Macfarlane is known for his roles in several Hallmark movies, as well as the ABC TV show "Brothers and Sisters," as well as the movie, "Bros."
