Police in Wisconsin respond to two shots fired reports recover multiple shells, no relationship determined

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) - Police in Wisconsin responded to two different reports of shots fired on Monday afternoon and Monday night.
The two happened in different locations, with both involving recovered shell casings; however, it is unclear if the two may be related.

March 24, 2025 - 12:21 PM: 500 block Northport Drive
The Madison Police Department said that officers collected a shell casing during an investigation into shots fired on Monday afternoon.
According to the release, officers were sent to an apartment complex around 12:20 p.m. in the 500 block of Northport Drive after somebody reported hearing gunshots around 11:30.
A family member received this report and contacted police, and another person in the area reported hearing gunshots around the same time.
No signs of property damage were found, but one shell casing was found in an apartment building. No injuries were reported.

March 24, 2025 - 10:42 p.m.: Kessel Court
Officers in Madison said that a shooting on Monday night caused bullet damage to an apartment and a car around Kessel Court.
According to the release, officers were sent to the area around 10:45 p.m. and immediately searched the area, finding a vehicle with bullet holes and a nearby apartment with bullet damage.
Officers recovered more than 10 shell casings from the driveway of the apartment complex. Anybody with information is urged to contact the Madison Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 266-6014.
