CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Republican Charlotte City Councilman Tariq Bokhari has confirmed for WCCB that he is stepping down from council in order to take a new role with the Trump administration. Bokhari confirms he will be the Deputy Administrator for the Federal Transit Administration.
He said he wil
l step down in the “next couple weeks,” and that plans are still being finalized.
