4 arrested after shooting, physical assault in Ridgecrest: police

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Four people have been arrested after a shooting investigation in Ridgecrest last Tuesday, according to police.
Miguel Angel Serrano, 21, Mekhi DeMarcis Nelson-Jimenez, 18, and two 17-year-olds were arrested March 18 after allegedly getting in a fight and shooting at
a victim while leaving the scene, according to Ridgecrest police.
Police officers said on March 18, a fight between two people escalated to four people assaulting one person in the 300 block of South Downs Street. The suspects fired a gun at the victim when leaving the scene, but the victim was not struck by the bullet, according to police.

Officers had identified a a white SUV as a suspect vehicle and arrested four people in the car later that day at 2:54 p.m., on West Ridgecrest Boulevard near Norma Street. A search of a home in the 800 block of West Ward Avenue resulted in evidence of involvement in the earlier altercation, according to police.
The two minors were taken to juvenile hall.
The suspects were arrested under suspicion of attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, discharging a firearm at a person, assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a loaded firearm in public and conspiracy.
