The Guardians ended spring training in victorious fashion. Will Wilson’s double to left in the top of the ninth plated Jorge Burgos with the decisive run in a 3-2 win March 25 over the Diamondbacks in Phoenix. Kyle Manzardo belted a solo home run in the first and Jhonkensy Noel’s sacrifice fly t o bring in Kahlil Watson in the fourth accounted for the other offense for the Guardians. Luis Ortiz has had a rough spring but did go into the regular season with a solid start upon which to build. He went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He walked a pair and struck out one. Allan Hernandez got the win with a scoreless inning of relief, and Jack Jasiak got the final three outs for his first save.
