ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The NCAA transfer portal is open for men's basketball and UNM is starting to feel the impact. On Tuesday, it was revealed that Lobos guard Donovan Dent is entering his name in the portal.
This season, Dent averaged 20.6 points and 6.4 assists per game. He became the
first player in the country to eclipse 600 points and 200 assists since Ja Morant. The 6-2 guard was named the Mountain West player of the year.
Since coming out of high school, Dent has spent his entire three-year college career at New Mexico. His minutes and production have both increased every season.
While Dent is entering the transfer portal, a return to UNM is still possible. Dent is the third Lobo to join the portal this cycle joining Quinton Webb and Shane Douma-Sanchez. It was later revealed that fellow starting guard, Tru Washington, has entered the portal. ...read more read less
