Mar 25, 2025
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Dominion Energy officials say all guests will need an advance reservation before visiting Dominion Energy’s Lake Murray Public Park once it opens for the season on April 9.
A new reservation system for the beach and recreation area on the Lexington side o
f the Lake Murray dam will let people make reservations for up to three weeks in advance.
“The park’s opening is a hallmark of summer for many in our community and beyond. These changes will give visitors a chance to plan ahead and more comfortably and safely enjoy this jewel of South Carolina,” said Keller Kissam, Dominion Energy South Carolina president.
Cash payments are no longer accepted at the entry gate, according to officials.
Under the new reservation system:
Single-use $5 day passes will be available up to three weeks in advance.
Guests will receive an email confirmation and copy of their day pass to present at the gate upon arrival.
Each pass will be valid for the entire day. However, visitors will not be able to re-use the pass once they leave.
Visitors can go to Dominionenergy.com/LakeMurray to make a reservation.
Reservations will not be required for Dominion Energy’s other park sites along Lake Murray, including the boat launch on the Irmo side of the Lake Murray dam.
Parking costs per vehicle are $5 daily, and visitors can purchase a season pass for the Irmo-side boat launch.
