GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – Construction will begin soon on a new Goose Creek facility that will serve as both city office and event space.
City leaders announced plans for the Assembly at Goose Creek in February, which will be built next to city hall. Officials say the multi-purpose building wi
ll “serve generations of Goose Creek residents in the decades ahead.”
Most of the parking lot at city hall will not be accessible during construction, the city warned residents and visitors in a Tuesday morning post on Facebook. Parking spaces for visitors have been placed at the traffic circle in front of the city hall and on the top row of the parking lot close to Highway 52.
“When those spaces are full, the parking spaces to the right of our Municipal Court building, and the parking lot at our Recreation Center, will remain open as usual,” the city said.

A drive-thru at city hall will also remain open; however, it will temporarily close later in the construction process. The city plans to notify residents before that closure.
“Business will continue as usual within City Hall. As always, residents are welcome. However, we do encourage everyone to take advantage of our online water bill payments if that is more convenient,” the city said.
The city thanked residents and visitors for their patience ahead of the project and added that they believe the new facility will be well worth the temporary inconvenience.
The Assembly at Goose Creek is expected to be completed in December 2026. ...read more read less
