A man who was trying to break into a vehicle was shot by a concealed carry license holder early Tuesday in Hegewisch on the Far Southeast Side, according to police. The 21-year-old man was trying to break into the vehicle around 1 a.m. in the 13400 block of South Green Bay Avenue when he was confron ted by the concealed carry holder, who shot him once in each leg, Chicago police said. The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was in fair condition, police said. He was later arrested. No charges have been announced.
