The Lake County Council on Aging recently announced it will hold it “Miles for Mom” event, featuring a 5K run and a 1-mile fun walk, on Mother’s Day, May 11, at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Painesville Township. This family-friendly event promises a morning of fitness, fun, and community spi rit, all while supporting a worthy cause, officials stated in a news release. The “Miles for Mom” event is open to participants of all ages and abilities. Organizers are encouraging families to bring strollers and even their four-legged friends, as dogs are invited to participate alongside their owners. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Lake County Council on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program, which delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors throughout the county, the release stated.
