CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The company behind Chesterfield County's newly opened, vertical indoor strawberry farm has filed for bankruptcy.
According to court records, Plenty Unlimited, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Sunday, March 23, in Texas Southern Bankruptcy Court.
This would allow the company to continue to operate its business while reorganizing or restructuring.
According to court documents, Plenty has between $100 million and $500 million in liabilities, with somewhere between 200 and 999 creditors.
Earlier in March, 8News spoke with the vice president of local business whose team worked on the "Plenty Richmond Farm" project in Chesterfield County -- which opened in September -- who said his business had not been paid.
Plenty said on Monday, March 3, that smaller local businesses hadn’t been paid because the company did not have the funds to do so.
