Light rain and cooler temperatures midweek ahead of a warm up by the weekend
Mar 25, 2025
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Light showers are dotting the region this Tuesday morning, primarily impacting areas north of I-64. Expect these to persist through midday before gradually tapering off in the afternoon, allowing temperatures to recover into the upper 40s and low 50s. While th
e majority of the afternoon will remain dry, a few isolated showers could redevelop during the evening hours before dissipating by Wednesday morning.
Wednesday will bring a mix of clouds and sun with the chance for an isolated shower or two in the afternoon. Highs will climb into the low-to-mid 50s, continuing our gradual warming trend. Thursday marks a transition day with more sunshine and highs returning to the low 60s—offering a pleasant and dry day ahead of changes arriving later in the week.
A warm front lifting through the region Thursday night into Friday will bring another round of rain, setting the stage for a noticeable warm-up heading into the weekend. By Friday and Saturday, southerly winds will drive temperatures into the low 70s. However, this surge in warmth will also fuel a few rounds of showers and storms both days.
Looking ahead to Sunday, a more organized storm system is expected to sweep through the Ohio Valley. The Storm Prediction Center has already highlighted all of central and eastern Kentucky for a strong-to-severe storm risk Sunday into Sunday night. While details remain uncertain, the setup suggests the potential for damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and possibly an isolated tornado. We’ll be monitoring this system closely and encourage everyone to stay weather-aware as we get closer to the weekend.
