MBTA says normal service has returned to Providence/Stoughton line after overhead wire fire incident

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority said service was temporarily suspended on the Providence/Stoughton commuter rail line while fire crews responded to Hyde Park Station Monday.
The inbound and outbound lines were both impacted Monday afternoon when overhead wire
s caught fire.
The Boston Fire Department said the fire is believed to have been caused by the weather.
Amtrak Northeast said MBTA service was partially restored around 5:30 p.m.
The MBTA announced that service was back to normal around 8:30 p.m., but said commuters may continue to experience residual delays on both lines.
