Williams County to give out $80,000 in tourism grants

WILLISTON, ND (KXNET) — Applications are open for the 2025 Tourism Grant Program, an initiative to support tourism-related projects in Williams County.
The Board of County Commissioners approved the program for its fifth award cycle. Previous grants have funded rental equipment, facility expan
sion and improvements, area events, and many other things.
$80,000 is available in grants this year. The money comes from the Williams County Visitor Promotion Fund, and is allocated as follows:
$60,000 for capital projects (maximum of $20,000 per application)
$20,000 for events or advertising initiatives (maximum of $5,000 per application)
Grant funds can cover up to 80% of costs; recipients are required to match 20%.
North Dakota museums, libraries affected by getting rid of IMLS
Applications opened on the Williams County website at 9 a.m. CST on Thursday, March 20, and are due by 5 p.m. CST on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
Eligible applicants include government or public entities; private non-profit entities, clubs, and organizations; and private for-profit businesses, corporations, or associations. All applications must be related to supporting tourism in the county. Projects and events have to take place outside the city of Williston but within Williams County.
The Tourism Grant Application Review Committee will review submissions, and final selections will be made by the Board of County Commissioners during their May 20, 2025 meeting.
