IDENTIFIED: 13yearold driver killed in Fresno County crash

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The Fresno County Coroner's Office named the driver killed in a crash on Highway 33 at Manning Avenue.
The driver was identified as 13-year-old Blain Chandler from Visalia.
According to the CHP, on March 18 officers reported a two-vehicle fatal crash that to
ok place on Manning Avenue, west of Highway 33, in Fresno County. The crash took the life of the 13-year-old driver. The crash site is south of Mendota.
Fatal crash in Coalinga prompts Highway 33 closures
Officers say Chandler was driving a 2024 Honda Accord westbound on Manning Avenue, west of Highway 33, while a woman from Idaho was driving a 1995 Kenworth truck tractor with dual livestock trailers eastbound of Manning Avenue.
CHP reports Chandler turned to the left, causing the car to cross the center line and enter the eastbound lane. The driver of the Kenworth could not avoid the crash and both vehicles collided head-on.
The force of the impact, officers say, caused both vehicles to catch fire.
Officers say Chandler remained pinned in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kenworth was able to get out of the vehicle and wait for emergency personnel. ...read more read less
